Pomeranian Puppy Price: What Determines the Cost

Every Pomeranian puppy at Bánh Bò Pomeranian is priced individually, based on the quality of that particular puppy: structure, face, coat density, size and the pedigree of both parents. Puppies of show quality sit in a separate, higher tier. For families abroad, we quote each puppy personally — message us on WhatsApp for available puppies and a full quote.

Hi there! We are a Pomeranian-only breeding kennel in Ho Chi Minh City, established in 2012, a member of the Vietnam Kennel Association (VKA) and breeding to FCI standards. This page explains why no two Poms are priced the same — and why you may see Pomeranians advertised elsewhere for a fraction of the price.

How are puppies priced at Bánh Bò Pomeranian?

Two puppies from the same litter can differ significantly, so we give the exact price for each puppy when you contact us and see current photos and videos of that puppy. Export paperwork and travel are arranged separately according to your destination country.

What determines the price of a Pomeranian puppy?

A Pomeranian’s price depends on five factors, listed from the easiest for a buyer to see to the hardest:

  • Face: a short muzzle, round bright eyes and small, high-set erect ears. The round “baby face” look is currently the most sought-after style among Pom lovers in Asia.
  • Structure: a compact, well-balanced body. The FCI standard describes the Pomeranian as square — body length roughly equal to height.
  • Coat: a double coat with a dense undercoat and a stand-off outer coat. A puppy coat doesn’t fully show the adult coat, so experienced breeders look at the parents to predict how a puppy will coat up.
  • Size: a standard Pom stands about 20 cm (8 in) at the shoulder, give or take 3 cm (1.2 in). A compact size within the standard is valued, but smaller is not always better — extremely tiny puppies are more prone to low blood sugar and bone injuries.
  • Parents’ pedigree: parents with FCI/VKA pedigrees and generations of champions mean stable genetics. Looking at the parents gives a fairly accurate picture of how a puppy will turn out.

For show dogs, judges also assess movement, presence, bone structure and stance. It is rare for a litter to produce a puppy that meets all of these, which is why show-quality puppies are priced in a different tier.

Why are some Pomeranians sold so cheaply?

A very low price rarely covers the real cost of raising a purebred Pom litter properly, so something has to be cut. Pomeranians have small litters — only a few puppies each time — while the cost of breeding stock, mating, veterinary care and caring for the mother is shared across just those few puppies.

Not everyone selling cheaply has bad intentions — some are pet owners who bred their dog once. But it’s worth knowing what a lower price usually costs you:

  • No pedigree, or not purebred. Many puppies advertised as “Poms” are actually mixes. It’s hard to tell when they’re small — it only shows as they grow.
  • Unselected parents. Pomeranians are prone to some inherited conditions such as luxating patella, collapsing trachea and patchy coat loss. Without careful selection of the parents, these pass straight to the puppies.
  • Poor breeding practices. Breeding that isn’t science-based or suited to the breed produces weak puppies from the very start.
  • Sold too young, before 8 weeks of age, so the puppy looks tinier and the seller gets paid sooner. Puppies separated from their mother too early are often weak and prone to illness.
  • Incomplete or missing vaccinations and deworming. Many puppies fall ill with parvovirus or distemper within days of arriving home — treatment is expensive and long, and not every puppy survives.
  • No after-sale support. If the puppy gets sick, you’re on your own.

One more warning: many cheap listings use photos taken from the internet — including photos of our own puppies — to collect a deposit and then disappear. Please check a seller’s reputation carefully before sending any money.

What does the price at Bánh Bò Pomeranian include?

The difference lies in things you can’t see in a photo, but will clearly see over the next 12–15 years:

  • Imported breeding stock, selected over many years. Our breeding dogs come from Thailand, South Korea and China, all with complete FCI/VKA pedigrees and generations of champions.
  • Bred to FCI standards, with transparent paperwork and origins, as a registered member of the Vietnam Kennel Association (VKA).
  • Selected to reduce inherited disease, not just for looks.
  • Lifetime care advice. With deep, breed-specific Pomeranian knowledge, we stay with you for your puppy’s whole life, giving accurate advice suited to the breed.

A real guarantee against distemper, parvovirus and other infectious diseases

These are the two diseases that cost many families their puppy just days after bringing it home. Bánh Bò Pom stands behind its guarantee because of disciplined husbandry and a professional isolation system: puppies are cared for and isolated according to strict protocols before going home, so the risk of carrying disease is controlled at the source. International families receive the same guarantee as our local clients.

You can rest assured: to date, no client has ever told us that Bánh Bò Pom’s guarantee was “not real.” Plenty of sellers promise a guarantee at the time of sale and then vanish when something goes wrong. For us, a guarantee is a promise we keep — because every puppy that leaves our kennel is still our baby.

How do you know a Pomeranian is worth the price?

A Pomeranian is worth the price when the puppy is healthy, has a clear origin and comes from carefully selected genetics— because those are what decide how healthy and happy your dog will be with you for years to come.

A Pom can be with you for 10–15 years. More than a pet, your Pom becomes family: greeting you every evening after work, showing up in every holiday photo, growing up alongside your children, and sharing countless moments with you. A companion for that long deserves the very best start.

That’s why, at Bánh Bò Pom, breeding and choosing each puppy for each family is done carefully from the very beginning:

  • Peace of mind on health. Puppies are cared for and isolated according to protocol in a professional kennel system, backed by our guarantee against distemper, parvovirus and other infectious diseases.
  • Peace of mind on origin. Every puppy has a clear, transparent and verifiable FCI/VKA pedigree.
  • Not just purebred — selected purebred genetics. Being purebred is only the starting point. Our parent dogs come from Thailand, South Korea and China, with generations of champions, and have been selected over many years to produce the best individuals — in both looks and health.

To make sure your puppy really comes from us, contact Bánh Bò Pom only through our official channels. Please beware of impersonator accounts using our name and photos of our puppies.

Pomeranian price FAQ

How much does a Pomeranian from Bánh Bò cost?

Each purebred, FCI/VKA-pedigreed puppy is priced individually according to its quality, with show-quality puppies in a higher tier. For international families, export paperwork and travel depend on your destination. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send available puppies with a full quote.

Should I buy a very cheap Pomeranian?

You can, if you accept the risks around origin, health and the lack of after-sale support. If you want a purebred, healthy Pom with papers and a guarantee, a very low price usually can’t cover those things.

What about “mini” or “teacup” Pomeranians?

“Teacup” and “mini” are marketing terms for small puppies, not categories in the FCI standard. Price is still based on the puppy’s overall quality. Be careful with very tiny puppies sold before they are old enough — they are small because they are too young, not because of their true size.

Why do puppies from the same litter have different prices?

Because each puppy has a different face, structure, coat and size, even with the same parents. The closer a puppy is to the breed standard, the higher its price.

What does the Bánh Bò Pom health guarantee cover?

Bánh Bò Pomeranian guarantees against dangerous infectious diseases in puppies, including distemper and parvovirus. We can commit to this thanks to disciplined husbandry and a professional isolation system, and no client has ever reported that the guarantee was not honored.
